‘Vividha 2019’ the media fest concluded

17th October, 2019: Jaipur: “Media is a profession of passionate people and those who have desire to communicate. If one wants to join media house just for fame and money then they cannot go much far because all the well-known personalities of media haven’t joined the industry for fame”, Sunit Tandon, Director, India Habitat Centre. Sunit Tandon expressed his views on being famous and perks and perils of media industry to the students of Journalism and Mass Communication of IIS (Deemed to be University) on the occasion of 8th Media Fest Vividha 2019 where he graced the occasion as chief guest.

While sharing his experience of being famous Tandon said that his passion became his actual qualification. He further suggested students to follow their passion weather it is being seen in front of camera or behind it. Sunit Tandon also gave a few tips to budding anchors.

In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of the university welcomed the esteem guest and the gathering. Chief guest with Dr. Ashok Gupta and Dr. Raakhi Gupta released monthly news letter ‘Youth Speak’. The inaugural ceremony of Vividha 2019 concluded with vote of thanks remarks delivered by Dr. Garima Srivastava, Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The first day of inter-collegiate media festival witnessed a variety of interesting and enriching activities including Ad Mad, Media Quiz and Budding Journalist covering all facets of fun and learning. S.S.Jain Subodh PG College stood first in Ad Mad competition and St. Wilferds P.G. College stood second. Poorvi Jain and Shivam Mehta from International School of Informatics and Management, Technical Campus stood first in the Brainstorming (media quiz) contest. Ashish Sharma from S.S.Jain Subodh P.G. College and Shruti Jain from IIS (Deemed to be University) bagged first and second position respectively in Budding Journalist competition.

The second day of the fest witnessed competitions such as Film Fest, RJ Hunt and Photography competition.

FINAL CUT – FILM FESTIVAL

The second day of Vividha 2019 began with Final-Cut, the film festival in which students of different universities showcased their behind the camera capabilities in fiction and non-fiction categories. There were 17 films showcased in the festival.

In the non-fiction category, Shruti Jain and Parul Soni of The IIS University directed film “Kathak” bagged the first position. While Fading Legacy based on the extinction of a musical instrument of Rajasthan called Ravahatha.

In the fiction category, the first position was bagged by Deepika Phogat and Shweta Sharma from IIS (Deemed to be University) for the film Kahani Rangmanch Ki. This film is based on theatre performances failing to make a mark on audience. Amity University student Yaman Bhatia’s film Ye Hasratein based on greed for money bagged second position.

RJ HUNT

In the RJ Hunt Competition, Parul Soni and Vanipriya from IIS (Deemed to be University) stood at First and second position respectively.

PHOTOGRAHY

In the Photography competition, more than 20 participants took part. Alfisha Khan from The IIS University stood at first position, while Aparna Natha from IIIM bagged second position.
