COSMOS 2019: TEDx IIS University’s Poster Unveiled

10th January 2019: Jaipur: The IIS (Deemed to be University) rand in New Year with great fun and fiesta. Lively and attractive stalls, colourful ambience had set the tone right for the New Year. Students of the university made full use of each and every moment of the 11th Annual Cultural Fest – ‘COSMOS’ 2019 titled ‘Tes Reves’ to make the entire year as happening and cheerful as it is in the beginning. This fest was a great endeavor to bring out the extra ordinary talent in participants from all over the city. It began with great pomp and show along with being a witness of multiple cultural and literary events. The décor made the university infrastructure come alive, providing students’ aesthetic backgrounds to take photographs.

This fest was dedicated to the celebration of creativity and it was a stimulating event brimming with youthful dynamism. Apart from the singing and dancing, students showcased their talent in different exciting competitions. The motive behind this fest was to encourage students to explore all facets of their creative expressions and skills. Mudra-group dance competition, face painting, hand painting, Open Mike, various singing competitions were some of the attractions of the fest along with the stalls put up for eating and shopping.

Mudra–Group Dance competition stole the show. Dr. Sakshi Singh, Head, Cultural Department, Kanodia College and Shivani Sharma, Fashion and Travel Blogger had adorned the judge’s hat. This competition witnessed a variety of dance forms from bollywood fusion on Sajda… to classical retreat on Albela Sajan Aayo Re…

Dance performance with a Social twist

Some of the dance groups had taken it as a platform to deliver a message through this platform. One of the groups showcased a child who is surviving in disgruntled family. The performance clearly depicted what a child goes through when their parents get separated. In another set of performance, girls raised their voice against women related issues such as child abuse, molestation, harassment etc.

One of the groups also remembered Sridevi by performing on her iconic songs such as Hawa Hawai, Wo Lamhe… The first position was bagged by Kriti Kanwar and Group while Niharika Joshi and group received second position for their classical performance. Amisha Kumawat and group stood at third.

TEDx IIS University Poster Unveiled

The next destination of much renowned and popular TEDx is IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur. Poster launch of TEDx IIS University was the highlight of the last day of COSMOS 2019. The poster was unveiled by Dr. Ashok Gupta and Dr. Raakhi Gupta in the presence of RJ Shivangi, Placement Officer Dr. Shivi Saxena and IISU Student Council Co-ordinator Rakshita Singh. Although, celebrities are being approached by the event coordinators and the final list of the speakers is yet to be finalized but tentative speakers of the event are Mallika Dua, Comedian, Durjoy Datta, Novelist, Ambika Anand, TV Anchor and Dr. Benny Prasad, Famous Guitarist.

Also, the other attraction of the fest was the stalls put up at the back lawns from jewellery to clothing to mouth watering food items. These stalls were enjoyed by the students as well as teachers.

The fest was concluded with the award distribution ceremony in which winners of different activities and competitions were awarded with certificates and trophies by Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar.
