04 February 2017: Jaipur: A woman has different phases in life. She becomes everyone’s favourite since she was born. But it is rightly said that girls grow much faster than boys. So, when she steps out of the protective shadow of her loving parents, she handles every adverse situation with doughtiness to prove woman power. And then only her parents realize that her princess had grown up. These little memories and different stages of life of a woman had been showcased in the 8th Annual Fashion Show “Creations 2017” organized by the department of Fashion and Textile Technology of The IIS University on Saturday.

Tinsel Tales collection brought back the memories of a girl who loved to being called her father’s little princess. But she had to grow to become Angel’s Army to the society which questions her identity every now and then. And then a moment arises when father has to depart her princess with her prince charming, and again she is expected to balance between her personal and professional life. Professional Striped Clothes give her strength to re-live and re-invent her identity as an independent woman.

Mr. Jagdeesh Chandra, CEO, Zee Regional Channels was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion while Fashion Designer and International Model Ms. Bibi Russell was the Guest of Honor.

The fashion show witnessed collection in 11 different themes. A total of 34 students cum fashion designers showcased the outfits donned by 48 students cum models. Fashion Stylist and Choreographer Mr. Prasad Bidapa and Managing Director of Anantaya Ms. Geetanjali Kasliwal had donned the judges’ hats.

Designer Shreya Garg, Shubhi Nyati, Sonali Khariwal and Vidhi Lunawat showcased her collection on the theme Tinsel Tales transporting every woman to her childhood fantasy of being part of a fairy tale as a princess. This collection works the princess look as it moves from ethnic restoration of the block print to the contemporary sophistication of a modern fairy tale.

Designer Aishwarya Rathore, Jagveer Kaur and Jyoti Yadav celebrated the strength and spirit of womanhood through her collection Angels’ Army. Inspired from military wear, collection re-created a sense of authority believing in fairer but not the weaker sex.

Ancien Regime collection revived the Roman warrior princesses look presented by designer Harsha Rathi and Muskan Mittal to make a solid statement, reminiscent of a bygone period. Inspired by the Vagabond, gypsy style collection Urban Gypsy by the designers Ananya Tak, Ashi Agarwal, Karishma Khandelwal and Sakshi Khandelwal created 70s hippie culture giving Pushkar-meets-Goa look! The flared skirts and stylish tops in vibrant geometrical and ornamental prints using bold colours exemplify the amalgamation of two design sensibilities.

Taking inspiration from the English Victorian age known for its typically tight corsets embellished with laces and a trim using heavy fabric,Vintage Vibes Collection of designers Aditi Vyas, Prerna Agarwal, Priyansha Gupta and Snigdha Jain comprises coats and jackets inspired from the 18th century for the 21st century women.

As the Sufi disciples seek after divine truth and pure love through direct encounters with God, so do the designers Anchal Bhargava, Bhavika Bakhtyani, Nimisha Tantia and Simran Jain who created collection on the theme Divine Rhapsody. The minimalistic look, sans accessories but complete with the conical caps, re-create the whirling movements of the dervish dance.

While Savage Garden collection gave an ode to the different shades of the night sky in the dead of winter by the designers Anushka Sharma, Jahanvi Badlani, Siddhi Katta & Stuti Gupta, Fusion Fables creation of designers Neha Agarwal, Ragini Bansal, Renu Choudhary and Riddhi Gupta used sunset orange to make Indo-Western outfits.

Whoever said that formal is boring and that corporate wear is anything but cool….think again! Striped Saga themed collection of designer Mitali Patni comprises formal wear rendered in a whole new avatar which is the striped look in blue, grey and black running amok, creating a fashionably illusory effect.

Coming from the land where every day is a festival, a cause for celebration of life itself, the designers Poorva Sharma, Prachi Sharma and Saloni Garg in their collection Festive Fervour had used the festivals of India as their creative inspiration thus bringing alive in cloth and colour the rich cultural and religious diversity of India.

Last but not at all least, the decadent opulence of the Mughal Era comes alive in the Royal Rendezvous themed collection which uses soft chiffons and silks in shades of royal blue and pristine white paired with exquisite hand embroidery. A combination of ethnic wear and Indo-Western outfits, the designers have drawn creative inspiration from the typically Mughal architectural motifs.

Finally, the time had come to recognize the hard work done by the students and give away the well deserved awards under different categories. EMERGING FASHION DESIGNER OF THE YEAR award went to Savage Garden collection by the designers Anushka Sharma, Jahanvi Badlani, Siddhi Katta & Stuti Gupta.
