23rd December 2018: Jaipur: A large number of students graduate every year with a hope to get a financial stability in professional front. But the reality is different as there aren’t as many jobs as the number of graduates coming out of the universities every year. Instead of being disheartened why not you become your own boss, become entrepreneurs, create jobs not just for yourselves but for others too. Today, we live in a world where information technology is advancing at a rapid pace and is disrupting many established industries. The business environment too is undergoing a change as it enters into a new era in which one doesn’t own assets but owns the customers. There are many instances of the same but one such example is ‘WhatsApp’ which has taken the world by storm without owning any telecom network or investing huge capital, except for 40 engineers to run its entire business. With these words Shri Manu Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Naaptol.com began to deliver his convocation address.

IIS (Deemed to be University) hosted its seventh Convocation on Sunday at the university premises. The Chancellor of the University Justice S. N. Bhargava presided over the function, while Shri Manu Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Naaptol.com, was the chief guest on the occasion.

With the permission of the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Ashok Gupta declared the convocation open and welcomed the chief guest, dignitaries, guests and graduants present in the convocation hall. Later, he delivered the welcome speech and apprised the audience with the highlights and achievements of the university.

In the welcome speech, Dr. Gupta talked about the journey which began in 1995 as the International College for Girls. He was happy to announce that the university is into the second decade of national presence as a much sought after institute of higher learning. Also, he congratulated and felicitated Prof. Subhash Garg, Director, Centre for Research, Innovation and Training, of the university on becoming an MLA after winning in the just concluded assembly elections.

Dr. Gupta welcomes graduands
While empowering the female graduands, Dr. Gupta inspired them to focus on their dreams, to be prepared to take calculated risks and do not deterred by failures. He also hoped that even after bidding adieu to this campus, graduands will continue to draw inspiration from the deep spirit of IISU with its focus on education for life along with education for living. This will help in their diverse journey of discovery, of breaking the mould and shattering glass ceilings, of sailing uncharted seas and, opening new vistas to the human spirit.

He has also shown high hopes on the students who leave this campus with a deep reservoir of the IISU spirit of inclusion, diversity and equality, a reservoir that will grow over the years and invited to join BANDHAN- the association of the alumnae of this University so that you can stay connected with your alma mater.
