The IIS University’s former student secured 170th rank in UPSC
14th July 2017: Jaipur: The IIS University’s former student Ms. Padmini Solanki secured 170th rank in Union Public Service Commission – Civil Service Examination 2016-17. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar congratulated her and wished her best for future endeavors.
A BA Honours student, Padmini had Political Science as her one of the subjects but she never knew that she would ever prepare for civil services. Padmini had done MBA after graduating from The IIS University and did job for few years, but it was after the insistence of her husband and in-laws she started preparing for the exam.
She debunked the myths which aspirants have in mind about the exam. “It is a myth that only brilliant students can crack this exam or an aspirant needs to devote 12-14 hrs for doing preparations. With hard work and dedication, a person could clear this exam in 8-9 hrs of study, she said.”
She prepared for two years and she cleared this exam in second attempt. While sharing her experience at The IIS University, she said that the studies at university helped her a lot to get through the exam. “Whatever taught at the university plays an important role in preparing the exam. Even, I was asked about the university during my interview session, Padmini concluded.”
She will leave for Mussoorie on 28th August for training programme.
