ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights held

22nd July 2017: Jaipur: The Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs of India in collaboration with IPR management cell of The IIS University has organized one-day seminar on Intellectual Property Rights on Friday. The programme commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Shashi Singh, Chairperson, CWEI. Ms. Shashi gave her views on how innovations and entrepreneurship could be fostered with the help of IPR tools.

Attorney-Advisor Ms. Nancy Omelko discussed the global perspectives of Intellectual Property Rights. She said one can reserve the rights of any innovation and new creation so that no one can copy and misuse them. Another guest Attiaya Malik discussed the importance of system of protection. Talking about trademark, she said that a trademark should be unique, different and unidentifiable.

Ms. Komal Kalha, Senior Counsel, US Patent and Trademark office, Embassy of USA, New Delhi discussed the national perspective of IPR in relation to young startups. She addressed the students by saying that if by any chance you have to registered your startup in that case you should have its proper documents having your signature and date. This will act as a proof in case of infringement. The seminar concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Radhika Sharma.
