Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights concluded

One Day Workshop on IPR

20th August 2019: Jaipur: IIS (Deemed to be University) in collaboration with ASSOCHAM organized one-day Workshop Cum Training Programme on Intellectual Property Rights on Tuesday. Mr. Vijaykumar Shivpuje, Member, National IPR Council, ASSOCHAM, Ms. Nekita Kumari, Examiner of Patents and Designs, IPO, New Delhi and Mr. Govind Sharma, Ex-Chief, National Research Development Corporation, New Delhi were the speakers on the occasion. A total of 170 students participated in the workshop.

The programme commenced with lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, followed by welcome address delivered by Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar of the University. Prof. Pradeep Bhatnagar, Dean, Faculty of Science acquainted audience with the aims and objectives of the workshop. Mr. Vijaykumar Shivpuje delivered the inaugural address in which he explained the involvement of ASSOCHAN in the work related to Intellectual Property Rights. He also discussed the developments and innovations took place in the field of IPR and how it is being introduced among 6th standard onward students.

In the first session, Mr. Shivpuje talked about the types of Intellectual Property Rights. Ms. Nekita Kumari discussed the procedures required for filling patents. Mr. Govind Sharma spoke at length about the significance of IPR at the educational institution level.

The programme concluded with certificate distribution to the participants.
