PARA SPORTS MEET FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN 2019

The IIS University celebrates National Sports Day with special children

29th August 2019: Jaipur: To mark the birth anniversary of India’s Hockey Wizard, Major Dhyan Chand, IIS (Deemed to be University) celebrates National Sports day with special children on Thursday. The Equal Opportunity Cell, Sports Board and National Service Scheme unit of the university organized a Para Sports Meet where almost 125 special children from Umang, Milestone, Prayaas, Nirmal Vivek, Sweekar and Disha schools were present.

Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar of The IIS (Deemed to be University) paid homage to ace Hockey player Dhyanchand and announced the commencement of the programme. Later, she addressed differently-abled children and said that they are no way less than a normal child and the level of energy and enthusiasm they got cannot be compared with any other child.

The friendly Hockey match was played by these special children with great gusto. For the enjoyment of these children various sports activities like Basket race, water fill and race, candy race, relay race, pyramid race, book balancing etc were held which was smoothly conducted with the help of NSS and sports volunteers of the university. The children were shining with a smile on their faces.
The efforts made by these children were enough to convey a message that they need empathy and a little extra care and attention can do wonders to them.

Dr. Raakhi Gupta delivered a thank you note and extended heartfelt gratitude for making this day memorable. Since all of them were the winners in every way, so medals were awarded to each child. Also, mementos were distributed to the teachers who accompanied the students and lending help and support in organizing event of such stature.
