‘Vividha 2017’ the media fest concluded

COSMOS 2017 commenced at The IIS University

“Unstoppable” declared best non-fiction film at film festival

26th October, 2017: Jaipur: ‘Vividha 2017’-The Media Fest organized by the department of Mass Communication and Journalism of The IIS University concluded on Thursday. With the culmination of this two day event, the university witnessed the opening of another two-day IISU Annual fest Cosmos 2017.

FINAL CUT – FILM FESTIVAL

The second day of Vividha 2017 began with Final-Cut, the film festival in which students of different universities showcased their behind the camera capabilities in fiction and non-fiction categories. There were 12 films showcased in the festival. In the non-fiction category, Maheshwari Shekhawat and Ashri Khandelwal of The IIS University directed film “Unstoppable” bagged the first position which was based on the message which says ‘never give up’. While an animated film ‘Use Me’ by the Amity University student Adarsh Bhatnagar stood at second position.

In the fiction category, the first position was bagged by Anshika Gupta for the film Bhram and Anubha Khandelwal’s film based on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Rini Dixit’s film Mithas stood at second and third position respectively.

RJ HUNT

In the RJ Hunt Competition, Akshay Udawat from S.S.Jain Subodh PG College bagged first position while Kanika Lakhen Pal and Aman Pareek from Amity University stood at second and third position respectively.

PHOTOGRAHY

In the Photography competition, more than 20 participants took part. Shikha Agarwal from The IIS University stood at first position, while Aman Arora from Amity University and Tanvi Lakhotia from The IIS University bagged second and third position respectively.

COSMOS 2017 – MUDRA – SEMI CLASSICAL COMPETITION

This day also observed the commencement of The IIS University’s 10th Annual Fest Cosmos 2017. The fest began with Mudra – semi-classical Intra college dance competition which was judged by Manisha Gulyani, Neha Shrivastava and Sheetal Rathore. The participants showcased their dancing prowess on various popular songs such as Ghoomar…Manmohini….Ilaahi….Bhare More Naina….Madhban Me Radhika…..

In the Solo dance category, Manaswani Sharma bagged first position while Vartika Tiwari and Shraddha Jain stoody at second and third position respectively. In trio-dance competition, Neha Soni, Divya Verma and Aditi Sharma stood at first position.

FACE PAINTING

The theme of the Face Painting competition was fusion, colors of life and expressions. The first position was bagged by Savy Bhargava and Shikha Agarwal from The IIS University. Ravi Prasad Koli and Sonu Rajawat from University of Rajasthan and Varsha Nathawat and Kirti Ojha from Biyani Girls College received second and third position respectively. Over all trophy went to Biyani Girls College.

Bazaar on Campus

To instil Entrepreneurial skills amongst the students, CHRYSALIS E-cell of the IIS University has organized for 2 days, the 6th Bazaar on Campus. This E-bazaar aims at manifesting the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the students as well as teaching them skills and strategies of business. There are 11 business plans proposed by the budding student entrepreneurs and these will be evaluated on various business parameters.

The Most Innovative Business Concept award went to “Chandu Ki Stall” put up by the Department of Commerce. “Manra and We Work” Stall received Most Sustainable Business Venture, “On The Spot” got the Best Decorated Stall title, Best Theme Stall title shared by “Pouvior Des Filles” and “Dessert Bar”. “Havou With Nosh and Tags” received Campus Company and “Chem Jobbers” Star Udyami title.

The next will also observe fun filled activities such as Cookery Contest, Rangoli, Fashion Styling, Inter college debate, photography and Razzmatazz- Contemporary Dance competition.
