Electoral Participation Awareness Drive organized at The IIS University.

Siddharth Mahajan urged students to cast their vote

11th July 2017: Jaipur: Election Commission, Rajasthan in collaboration with The IIS University organized a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program on Tuesday. It is a program of multi interventions through different modes and media designed to educate citizens, electors and voters about the electoral process in order to increase their awareness and participation in the electoral processes.

On the occasion, Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector and Registrar, The IIS University, Mr. Ashwani Bhagat, Chief Election Officer, Govt. of Rajasthan, Mr. Siddharth Mahajan, District Collector, Jaipur, Ms. Apurvi Chandela, Brand Ambassador, Election Department, Mr. Sunil Bhati, Deputy Election Officer and Mr. Jagat Rajeshwar, SDM, Sanganer were present to spread the awareness amongst youth.

The students of IISU Theatrical Society presented a Nukkad Natak before the esteemed guests in which they highlighted the importance of voting rights. This was appreciated by one and all.

Slogan writing competition and Poster making competition were also organized on the occasion through which participants spread the message of becoming a responsible citizen of India through casting a vote.

Later, the guests addressed the gathering and informed them about the aims and objectives of the campaign. Mr. Mahajan appealed to the students to register themselves and use the rights of voting. Mr. Bhagat also urged the students to cast their votes as each vote counts.

In the end, a quiz was organized to assess the students’ awareness towards Indian voting system and election commission.
